Why are introverts great salespeople?

This might surprise some people, but introverts are great salespeople because they don’t need to be the center of attention and they typically don’t have to unlearn the bad habits that the extroverts have to unlearn, like talking over the customer or prematurely offering solutions.

Customers mostly care about solving their problems for their reasons.

They mostly don’t care if you’re a super entertaining person unless you have to live with them on a regular basis, and only then it helps to be charismatic and captivating sometimes.

When you go to the doctor for help, do you want an extrovert? Or do you want someone who can give you expert advice and good bedside manner?

And same goes for sales.

In case it’s helpful to relate, I was a  backward, introverted nerd and in the early days I tried to be that “cool sales guy.” I was trying to emulate the high fliers.

When I learned I could simply be me and help customers, my sales numbers increased exponentially.
